On May 27, 2006, Cpl. J. Adan "Adam" Garcia, 20, died from a gunshot wound he sustained on the battlefield in Iraq while serving with the United States Army.

This website is dedicated to Adam's fellow soldiers of the Army's 10th Mountain Division and all who have served and continue to serve our country in Iraq.

Adam was proud to be a soldier and wholeheartedly believed in his mission.   He displayed great courage and bravery on the day that he was shot.  He is a true American Hero.

Cpl. J. Adan "Adam" Garcia

Adam was born in El Paso, Texas and moved to Irving, Texas when he was 10 years old.  He attended Coppell High School, where he played the trombone in the marching band.  He graduated in 2003.

The events of 9/11 stoked his desire to do something for his country.  While still in high school, he signed up for the U. S. Army under the Delayed Entry Program, and chose to pursue his military training as a Combat Engineer, or "Sapper."

He completed his basic and advanced training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He was subsequently assigned to the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York.  His unit was deployed to Iraq in August of 2005.

Adam was laid to rest on Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery with full military honors.
